Adopting a Drain

Adopting a drain simply means that you spend about 15 minutes per month cleaning debris like sand, leaves, and trash from the grate with a few simple tools. At adopt-a-drain.org, you can sign up to adopt a drain near you and track your cleanings so we can measure our collective efforts to help the Mississippi River!

Renter? No problem! Simply un-adopt your drain when you move and adopt a new one when you get settled at your new location.
