2020 Northeast Storm Drain Challenge Winners

Although billed as a competition, the goal of the NE Storm Drain Challenge is really to build community as we work together to keep our Mississippi River thriving. After all, we all win with a healthier river.

First Place: Waite Park (62 storm drains)

Second Place: Windom Park (45 storm drains)

Third Place: Audubon Park (41 storm drains)

 

Greatest Increase in Percentage of Storm Drains Adopted

First Place: Windom Park (12.1% Increase)

Second Place: St. Anthony East (11.7% Increase)

Third Place: Marshall Terrace (11.4% Increase)

Most Storm Drain Adopters

First Place: Waite Park (33 adopters)

Second Place: Audubon Park (27 adopters)

Third Place: Windom Park (22 adopters)

 

Most Pounds of Waste Collected

First Place: Audubon Park (654 pounds)

Although the NE Storm Drain Challenge was successful its first year in promoting storm drain adoptions and awareness, there is still plenty of room for improvement. By adopting a storm drain and keeping it free and clear of debris that can contaminate the river, we can make a big difference together.
